Right now it’s especially important to keep up our health, safety, and spirits. Thankfully in all the chaos of this pandemic, there are many resources emerging to help us stay sane, without putting others and yourself at risk (as long as you’ve got access to the internet).
If you’re like us and many other Portlanders self-isolating to try and help fight the spread of this virus, you might be going a little stir crazy on top of worrying about essentials like your job, food, or, you know, the general crumbling of society.
So for this month, we’ve decided to share a quick list of some great ways to keep active mentally and physically.
My favorite spin studio in Portland, BurnCycle, is doing live aerobic exercises for you to follow along with here.
A great Barry’s Bootcamp instructor named Evan is doing live 30-minute workouts every weekday at noon and saving those to his Instagram. Follow him @evanarbour.
And, of course, reading is a great escape during stressful times. Now’s a great time to read the classics or reread your favorites. Anyone can access hundreds (thousands, millions?) of eBooks online. Here’s a quick list of resources for FREE downloads. Our county library system here in Portland allows for eBook checkout, so even as physical locations shut down, we still have access to great literature!
